Brain Health: A Simple Practice for Monkey Mind

A silent mind is a healthy mind.  Conscious breathing quiets the mind and emotions.  To tame the monkey mind and cultivate inner peace, we must train the brain gradually.

PRACTICE:  Breathe consciously.  Observe the breath.  Simply be aware that you are breathing in and out.  If thoughts come to disturb you from time to time, don’t push them away.  This only creates resistance.  Watch them.  Then gently return the awareness to the breath.  This technique will brighten your day.
